How to Make Outline Object Click on Outline Object button (marked with
red arrow) to start creation of outline. Left click on the Working Area where
the outline is to start. The first
point marked by a cross will appear.
Now left click on another place to create element of outline. It may appear to be a line but in fact it is a curve. The circular node in the middle serves for adjustment of the curve.
Now left click again to add another element. This way an outline of any length can be created. Do not use too many nodes. With curves long elements are easily created with few nodes.
Next, left click on one of the circular nodes
(middle points of curves) and adjust the curves one by one.
Right click on any square node. A pop-up menu for adjustment and finishing object will appear. Use Finish Object command now.
The finished object boundary can be seen in the Working Area. The object also appeares in the Object Inspector window as a small icon. The Eye icon on the left side means the object is visible. The small red icon indicates that there will be jump stitch before this object (as it is the first object in design). The icon underneath the red icon indicated the type of the object, i.e. outline.
Use the Transform tool (arrow) to select the object. Left click on the object. Selection box should appear around the object with 8 small squares. These small squares serve for transformation (scale, rotation and skew) of object. But we will not use them now.
Right click on selection to access pop-up menu. Use Parameters command.
The Parameters window will appear. There are several tabs in this window. Use the Outline tab to adjust parameters of Outline. Select the "Greek 2" stitch Sample. Click OK button.
Now use the right mouse button again to display pop-up menu. Click on Generate Stitches command.
The finished outline can be seen with chosen stitch
sample. Information about object size and number of stitches is displayed on status bar at bottom of the screen. If not satisfied with result, use the previous menu to return to editing mode and adjust the object. When doing outline, it is often necessary to create a backward path as well. Read about automatic creation of backward path here.
